Hello All,

I have one for you guys to mull around. I have a 68 Satellite(440/A833), Im working on now. Its all gutted, all that left to come out is engine, trans and some suspension. I would like to get it up on blocks to work under it. It needs floor/trunk pan, quarter panel and a frame rail. I would like to get going on it but I know I won't complete everything before winter.

SO, the question is can I remove the floor/trunk pan and dash and leave it out all winter?(in garage). Someone told me this could distort the body or frame leaving these parts out to long. It has some logic to it, but I think it would be fine. I can put the wheels back on and set it on the floor. Ill post some pics eventually. What do you think?

So? If you can't complete, why would you remove bits? If you can't get it done, leave it alone. It could be fine, but you risk the frame twisting. If you want to remove stuff, brace the body, otherwise you could end up with issues.

we did a Mustang for a full floor. we took 1" sq. tubing and welded to the sub frames to hold it together front to back and side to side but don't have it on a lift or jack. it will distort the frame. good luck!

As stated just make up some braces betterto be safe then sorry. I'd brace it up real good and store it on level Jack stands good luck

I'm with Satman. If you can't finish it why tear it all apart and risk more damage. It doesn't seem worth the risk to me. Up to you....
