- first 1000.00$ and its yours. could help with delivery in toronto area but needs to be taken off my truck.

- its a stock engine. the guy in cali who had it said it was rebuilt buy the guy he got the car from. the date on the block is 10-11 or 12--68 which makes sense in a 69 car. not going to scrape the paint on the month number. i had the 2 barrel carb re-built but can't remember why the 2nd summer i drove it. i drove it for 3 yrs before putting the hemi in. it ran flawlessly and used no oil.

Put in some engine build details. Like year, C/R, intake, cam etc. It may help the response.

318 engines are great little motors. Thing is, as far as sales value, they have none. In fact, that 318 is probably pulling the value of that Art Car transmission down some. You'd probably do better selling them separately. Most people are lucky to get 200 even for a good running 318.....unless it's a stroker or has a LOT of performance on and in it. You'll be an old man planning your funeral if you think someone will give you 1K for a 318.

I got $900 for my 318 with a 904 tranny but she was in great shape, had some shiny bits and I had video of her running before I pulled her. That is in NJ in 2011....

- rusty-rusty, if nothing else you have a different way of expressing yourself. i like that. you have to start somewhere and i got beat up already this morning on another thread, for free. you are probably right to seperate them. put a ball park number on the tranny. it worked good and led me to art. he is a heck of a gentleman. got to meet him when he built a tranny for my 825hp project. in the old days anything i had with some power to it was 4 speed. but now i am old and grey and have to shift another way. 4 spd auto over drive. its a hell of a tranny. he owns california transmissions now, huntington beach.
- good one rusty, thanks for the giggle. o yea, my funeral is already planned. i got you down as a pallbearer. :headbang:

I agree with Rusty. I'm sure everyone's got a story about how they, or someone they heard about, got a lot of money for something, but I would guess for every one of those stories there's about 200-300 stories going the other way. :) Just checked the local CL for running 318s, and there are three on there: $50, $150, and $300 (but any serious offer accepted).

Video is an awesome selling tool. Most people don't think to use it.

Wasn't trying to be smart. I was being completely serious. That's about what 318s go for. Unless like I said, they have lots of performance goodies on them....or Chris pointed out, have an accompanying video of them running like a champ. You can go on youtube and search for engines for sale. They got videos of them running. GREAT selling tool. Even better would be in the car. Then you might could get a good bit more.
