seen a red one at a car show 2 weeks ago in Pittsburgh! the guy ordered it in 1964 with a 426 wedge. one owner car ! HE STILL HAS IT! and its beautiful....not a mark on it!

Mine is dark red met.,only seen one other with vinyl top and it was the same color.possible only met. Available in 64. No pics until restoration is complete

It's not that rare. I'd be happy to take it off your hands for $50 and a case of Vitamin Water...

There is no way to know how many 426 SW autos were produced but there were over 15,000 '64 Polara 500's shipped for sale in the US.

When you consider the number of options and combinations available, one of one is no big deal. Finding two alike is the trick.

big daddy has two of them

don garlit has two of them in his museum of drag racing history. big daddy got one for himself and his wife.

63 Belvedere

I have a 63 Belvedere 2dr hdtp w/383 golden commando and auto trans. Ive read there were only 967 made? I aquired this car in a lot of 3 different mopars. If ya bought one ya had to buy all 3, so I did! The car was in pieces as was the motor, But it was all there Im down to fianally getting ready to install the motor and trans all rebuilt to specs and body work is all but done. Is there anyone that knows what the value of the car may be or anyone have a car like this? Also what was the correct engine color for the 383 commando that year? Thanks for your help, RACER5882

Well
I just dont know......

BUT: They made only 12,500 or so 1967 GTXs.......

The more important data fact is....
"How many are left?"

That's my question with the 62 Fury ragtop I just got. How many of the 4349 built are left?

I remember my brother bought a 65 Dodge Monaco around 1971 and it was an auto with the 426 street wedge. It was in great shape as it was blue and white and looked like new when he bought it. I still remember like it was yesterday as it had a console with a tach at the front of the console. We put a 780 Holley on it which replaced the AFB that was on it. That car was such a nice luxury car along with performance as it rode so nice and was a very smooth riding car. He would go out on the highway and race his buddy with his 390 Mecury Cyclone as he would just walk right away from the 390 car and his Dodge just kept on pulling away from the 390 car until he lifted. It was a heavy car with 3.23 gears but it had no problem smoking his buddies 390 Cyclone from a dead start or from a roll which they raced like that alot back then. I would love to have that Monaco back. Ron

According to GG's book, there is ONE known '64 Polara 500 426W car known to exist. But that number is from his 2004 list, so that actual number is bound to be more. Though, I would think the number can't be more than ten or so.

I have owned my car since 1980. I have seen many street wedge cars over the years and it seems like most are polar a 500s or satellites and furys . Highly optioned cars. It seems like the base model cars with no options are the rarest of the street wedge cars

Correct engine color is Chrysler Blue for 63

GG's information is meaningless, those numbers are only from people that have contacted him, that holds true for all regestries, factory production numbers are the only ones that count and in some cases those are incorrect.

^^^Again, that info is from ten years ago, and it stated "one known to exist". Besides, very few registries claim to have "all" of the cars accounted for, for their respective registries.

Correct engine color is Chrysler Blue for 63

No, it's not Chrysler Blue. That color did not appear until the 1969 model year, and then it was only on certain 340 engines, which could also be had in Red and Hemi Orange that year, BTW. Corporate Blue (aka Chrysler Blue) became the engine paint on everything, corporate-wide, in the 1972 model year. It was definitely NOT available in 1963.

The correct color for the '63 engine would be Turquoise, NOT blue.
