I am new at rebuilding a Z bar. How do you get the seals with a 3/8 hole over a 5/8 ball. I have tried grease but there must be a better way. Any suggestions from you pro's?

The same way you get 10lbs of **** in a 2lb box, lube and brute force... Lube the hole, and ram her home...

Been many years since I had a 4spd B-body and rebuilt the Z-bar, but I'm remembering the bushings being nylon and in 2 pieces, then you just put one on either side of the ball and slide the piece into the Z-bar, now you have a Z-bar with two studs sticking out out and you just screw the one side into the engine/tranny side and then drop the other into the frame bracket and bolt it down.

yes that sounds right to me as well but I think O.P. is referring to the back rubber seal that goes in each end of the bell crank tube that keeps the grease in and dirt out.
