So what is your question exactly? How to ID a big block 727? Simple. There are four converter cover bolt holes in the bottom of the bellhousing instead of two like on a small block 727.

I would highly suggest you buy a 1967 Dodge Factory Service Manual, lots of photos & detailed instruction, for band adjustments, shifter linkages & Throttle Pressure Valve/Kick Down linkages etc..
