how to wire neutral safety switch

converted my 318 auto to 440 4 speed 833.
can some one tell me to either bypass switch or how to wire switch if i can get a switch for the transmission
 
You need a simple ground circuit for the relay. You can buy another one for a manual. You can take the center wire from your original plug and ground it. You can also just make a simple 4 inch ground wire with a female spade and eye terminals. Attach it to the relay terminal and ground it on the relay screw. You can see in the two pictures the differences. The one the terminal is soldered to the case and the other has the spade. Some cars have an additional clutch pedal switch.

The pic above (on the right) is what i use for auto drag cars.... i even added a tell tale green LED on the dash switch panel to one so I know its ready to safely startup................ Early 3 and 4 speeds used nothing IDB, and late 60's-on manual cars used the clutch switch wired into the above relay. You can find a wiring diagram for your car at MyMopar.com, or use one of those diagrams to make a generic set-up for you new rig.

I have often thought about wiring an off/on switch like racers use into the neutral start switch circuit and mount it to the floor pan within easy reach under the driver's seat. Just flip it to OFF when parking your car as an extra deterrent to someone firing up your car and stealing it. I have not done this yet and wonder if it is worth the trouble. Any thoughts?

Great idea! No racer ever thinks someones gonna snag his racecar when he goes off to buy one of those crappy track Hot Dogs lol, but you can bet it has happened!
 
is there a way just to by pass this thats in the car already?

You don't want to bypass your start relay, just buy a starter relay for a manual trans car, or put an eyelet on that wire and ground it.

If I was going to steal your car I would have a 3 foot wire with alligator clips , pop the hood run power to your coil jump the starter solenoid hop in and burn rubber, securing the hood would do more good but I could get around that too, we're never really safe
 
Just snip at the circle, put an eyelet on the wire and ground it at the screw with the arrow.

i picked up a new relay.im sorry not sure how to wire it.do i use the factory one and ty into this one or just use this one.im sorry not good at this.

maybe be part of a issue also.i tried to turn the motor over and just a massive grind at the starter.dont know if it was getting correct voltage or not but i took starter off went to local parts store said it checked out find.seems when i put a load on the bendix when it engages flywheel doesnt turn motor over huge grind at starter.gears mess fine no metal shinny file issues.motor turns over with socket and rachet.thought maybe someting internal with motor .i have a brand new starter ordered not cheap rebuild.im hoping it its.

Just install it like the picture above shows and forget about the wire I previously illustrated to modify.

Take a look at your ring-gear it might be bad. If it is you will need a new convertor-

However, I couldn't access the Chrysler Master Tech Service Library topics. Do you know where one can access those topics?

When I rewired my car I found the neutral safety switch had previously been bypassed. I put in that switch and again bypassed it. After I did, I thought..you’d better sure it’s in park or neutral when you hit the key and not in gear! In a garage, bad things could happen really quickly. The good thing is nobody but me knows how to start it, but you need to think about what you’re doing! Would I do it again? Probably. I now would do little more research on other ways to add an extra switch first. Good luck!

They are re-doing their website over there..... actually now looks like a completely different site.... but it looks like the mastertech articles still work if you search for your topic by model of car and not by topic.... like the left side works and the right side does'nt (yet).
