I highly recommend a visit to the Packard Proving grounds if visiting Michigan. There have been some really great Mopar shows/swaps there in addition to other events, but there is a packard museum building with a cutaway vehicle and a good view and explanation of how things work, and a fellow working there to talk to about it. I sure enjoyed checking it out. The cars were pretty technologically advanced for their time, but appeared to be a little expensive and complex to manufacture.
