IF SO THERE IS TWO DIFFERENT PLACES ON THIS SIDE..THERE LIKE A SPACER IN THERE.. DO YOU GO BETWEEN THE SPACER AND HANDLE OR BETWEEN THE SPACER AND SHIFTER mechanisms ?.....
I DID TRY BOTH AND HAD NO LUCK.. ANY TRICKS TO THIS ??
I REALLY NEED TO GET THIS HANDLE OUT SO WE CAN LAY THE NEW CARPET AND INSTALL THE NEW SHIFTER BOOT..

Anyone remove these ?? Any tricks ?? Do these come out with feeler gauge ??

How does every one put thier boots on pistol grip shifters ?? Can you take grips and sift pattern off and streach it from the top of handle??
I sure hate to tear my new $100 dollar boot

Ive never had to take one of these apart so i have no idea about using a feeler gauge to take the handle out, but if thats the case i would think the gauge would be pushed down on a spring loaded pin that as you push down on the gauge it pushes it out (pin) and keeps it there for you to pull lever out. You could try it and make sure shifter is straight up and everything looks in line.. Hopefully some one gets in hear who has taken them apart, i thought for sure the diagrams in that site should point you in the right direction, of course thats the way it gos, maybe you could call them, email them and ask, i know your in a hurry but this is about all i can say to try.. Hope it works out.

PS MY BUDDY DID IT ON HIS 69 RR BUT WASNT A PISTOL GRIP... YOUR RIGHT I MAY HAVE TO DO SOME CALLING AROUND

Dan at Brewer's Performance Inc told me to put the feeler gauge Between the handle and the stainless steel clip. Spray some wd40 in there. They can be tough sometimes especially if someone has tried to pull the handle out and bent the finger on the clip that holds the handle in. :BangHead:

Spray some penetrating oil between the handle and clip. As you push in the feeler gauge try moving the handle around to help get the 2 clips to loosen. They do get stuck and kind of hard to remove sometimes.

I had to convince myself to jam the feeler in, once I did that I pulled the handle and it came right out. With the wd-40, it should go in. If it appears gunked up, you may try some carb cleaner and air to clean it out, then the wd-40.

Ohhhhhh Yaaaaaa !!!! WD-40 and push harder on feeler gauge and Waa-Laaa
she finaly poped out :upside down:
