Hurst V-Matic shifter with factory console

Is it possible to use a Hurst V-matic shifter with the factory console on my '69 Super Bee? The info says NO but if you don't use the plastic base could it work?

Yup
Mines the pro matic 2 but the base is the same, make sure you follow the instructions for cable routing, and most importantly get a heat shield of some sort for the cable or it will melt on your headers if you have them. I got this cloth inside. I got this stuff seems to work cable hasn't melted yet.

Nice set up! Think I will go with the Pro matic 2 like you did, but I want to use the "T" handle knob. I like the longer shifter handle.
Does the factory console gear indicator work?

No the gear indicator will not work with this setup, although I was able to line up the handle with the gears shown on the plastic it wont matter since its a ratchet shifter you will be getting used to the action vs where it says the gear your in.

Mo modifications needed. All stock functions work. I added a custom wood shifiter handle from Idlehands Woodworker.

I have that one too, the simulated wood handle I have on mine now is from the Duncan kit. I changed from the Duncan because I wanted a better option for the shift pattern. However if you don't want to modify your console mount brackets but want the pistol grip the Duncan is the way to go, it installs real easy to the OE brackets.
