Personally, wouldn't think so. Solid lifters need a gap, to allow valves to fully close. But, hydraulic lifters need a pre-load on them, with the plunger set .010 - .030, or there abouts.
I asked because if they are not TOTALLY correct from the get go, and you have a few that are clicking, then using a cut valve cover one could adjust the lifter(s) and be bang on correct. So that is why I posed the question.
