So I semi knew this was coming but I really didn't want to hear it. I finally got my front end all put back together, the brakes bled, and tires put back on. Totally excited but I got a bad feeling during the installation of my front end and the alignment guy confirmed my feeling. My runner had been in accident in the past (don't know when but before I bought it and was never told about it but I guess that's about normal.) He did the best he could at getting it as drivable as possible and still only charged me an hour's work after working on it for 3 so I commend him. So it looks like my next stop will be a frame/body shop for straightening. Anybody ever had this done before that could brace me for the dollar impact? Well I'm done venting...I love this forum.

Your cost will depend on how badly (and where) it's bent. Maybe it isn't hard out of whack.

I have no experience in frame work, but if you couldn't notice it looking or driving maybe it is not that bad like 69 said.... Best of luck.

I sure hope so. One of the many speed bumps I'm sure I'll face.

Your car MIGHT not have been involved in an accident. My brother-in-law and I bought a 1970 Cuda race car back in 1979 that was an original 440, 4 speed, Dana 60 car. It had a 426 Hemi and Hemi 4 speed in it when we bought it and had been used as a drag car most of it's life.. When we started tearint the car apart to start building it into a serious bracket car, we found out that it had a pretty good "kink" in the transmission tunnel, so we took the car to a well known local frame shop and found out that it had a 1.5" bend in the car that was caused from heavy torque loads from being raced hard without a roll cage or sub frame connectors. The frame shop straightened it out with no issues and we were good to go. Uni-body cars are known to have issues like this, so don't fear the worst yet.

I don't think it is from high torque or anything like that. This car has a ways to go before it'll be fast enough to do that kinda damage. I found a local frame shop here that I'll be taking it too. I'll let you all know what happens.

Just like now, lots of people wrecked cars, kinda fixed them....and they've changed hands many times since. Not everybody knows what's-up with their car.

As my car guy says, It's a good thing cars can't talk...
