Advice needed. After a few years of on and off, I’m thinking of cutting my losses and selling my project. It would be easy for me to cut up and scrap it in this condition but I can’t bring myself to do that. Even though it’s a rusted titleless shell. I’m 99% sure it was always just a 318 automatic car assuming I deciphered the vin correctly. Finding a cheap titled shell would be great but if I get good offers on it or it’s parts… and shipping heavy things isn’t the nightmare I’m assuming it will be, I’ll let it go. Also I am up for selling the new parts I bought for it. Power disc brake conversion kit, upper control arms, shocks, tie-rods and other parts. It currently sits as a shell of a 67 charger and piles of a 67 charger. But I included some pictures of it before it got dismantled. It was mostly complete believe it or not. Just missing 2 bits of trim surrounding the grill and the driver turn signal portion of the grill.

I feel your pain. I'm guessing there isn't any quarters and such for that year, is there? Quite a big undertaking to bring that one back!
With that said, it's not impossible if you have fabricating skills, patients, and deep pockets.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

Shame. Hate to see a true vinyl roof car go into the garbage.
Keep the trim lol.
If it has the bolt in drivers side exhaust hanger, it's likely a 383 4bbl car.

I would not hesitate to part that out. Plenty of 55-67 shells in better shape for projects.

Keep all the good parts, scrap the shell and track down a better charger body.
66 / 67 can be had without crossing into the crazy prices on the 2nd gen.

There's so many good parts there that will go to waste even if you part it out. If it was mine I would keep looking for a solid shell, they are usually missing a few parts that are super hard and expensive to find. Many times I look at a good shell and pass on it because I know what it takes to track elusive parts down.

I always wanted one. There was a white one in the town I grew up in. Always wonder what happened to it.

"V-8" emblems, so it's likely a 318 or 383-2 car

Awful rusty.

...and no title...

I agree with the others on finding a better example, especially with no title on this one. I would never put a penny into a car until it is titled in my name. First gen Chargers are not crazy money and it shouldn't be to difficult to find one with far less rust. Maybe keep this one for parts that could be used on your next find.

Here is a fairly decent '66 Charger for sale on Hemmings. Auction ends today and is at $13,750 and the reserve is met:

You'd be far better off just to buy that, even if the paint job is really crappy. 383-4v and is running and driving.

Silver with blue is not a very common color combo.

Looks like the RF fender is a repaint.

...and they forgot the '383 Four Barrel" emblems.

It IS a G code 383-4, though.
