identify an early B V8 K-Member

There is a 1962 Plymouth Savoy here, that overturned by accident. (318 V8 push button car)
The roof is completely damaged, but the windshield is O.K. And i would like to buy it for parts, I need for my 1962 Dart.

The main reason, I want to have it, is the V8 K-Member. For the swap, from /6 to RB Big Block, in my Dart.

But the Savoy started out his live as a /6 too and I don't Know if it is a real early B-Body K-Member in there.

How can I identify a real Early B V8 K-Member??
i think with the right one, I will not have big problems to do the Big Block swap. With some Schumacher Engine mounts.

If you go to Schumacher website he has a section on k-frames with good pictures.The early V8 k-frames have 2 bolt holes where engine mount attaches.I will post pictures later.

It was the first time for me, to see a /6 and a V8 K Frame side by side.

I always thought the /6 Frame has the engine mounts in a different location (much more backwards) so a V8 will never fit on it.

Am I right, when I think, I could change the mounting and weld in some like the ones on the V8 K-Frame to the /6 Frame??

Or is the /6 Frame completely different?? I can't see any big differnces in the pics.

The k-frames are the same only differ in engine mount brackets.You could weld brackets in.

If the Savoy has / had a 318 engine in it, the K member is going to work for you. 318 and bigblock are the same k member. the engine mounts differ though.
62 K members are a one year deal. Although 63-5 interchange perfectly.

Get the correct mounts for the 62 k-member.It will work since it is a v-8 mount.Easier to just get the correct mounts.

I keep my fingers crossed it is a 62 V8 K-Member in the Savoy.

I will try to get the car either. So much nice parts to use and i think it's a one in a million find, over here.
and finding one that is bad enough to take for parts...

I hate to see good or restorable cars go for parts, but this one had a real bad accident...
