62 is cool !

I think that it's called roll/tuck popular in the late 70's,i don't think it's factory. I don't know if they make seat covers for 62's.You could try legendary auto interiors.

b-star69 is correct, first two pics are generic upholstery.(had a boat with exactly the same look, even same red)sorry, dont know of anybody that makes covers for your ride.62 is pretty early, looks like you may have to do a bunch of research.

Lower photos are stock, as previous stated. No repop covers made, except custom done by SMS in Portland. Not cheap, but only game in town I've seen.

b-star69: Those of us of a certain age knew that as "tuck & roll" upholstery and it was very popular in the 50s and 60s. We used to go to Tijuana, just across the southern border of California and get it done for not much money. Very classic look.

Thanks to all for the info and replies.

Chignikred that's good info on SMS .i will contact them.On their site they seem to have the color vinyl red 815.Not to worried about cost just whether I can get em..
How are they described? Seat covers, upholstery kits, seat kits......etc?

Yup only game in town, I had dealling with them for a complete interior on my 62 Plymouth. I'm not a happy camper with them they dont seem to appereciate your business and you'll wait for ever! Finally got my interior and the welting was two feet to short on both doors and drivers door panel was split on the edge the silver pleather on the seats was painted silver and is coming off after two weeks on the driver seat.:angryfire:

I would leave your interior alone it looks really good and if you get a rivet counter that says its wrong.... TUFF-TIT!
Save your self a few head aches and dont deal with them!
Never again for me NO WAYJOSE!

Another option with SIMS is to just purchase the material and have a local custom trim shop stitch it up.

1962savoy,I have read many customers with similar complaints.really long waiting times (up to 2 years!!!)..had to pay upfront and been given the shaft. No communication ,bad service.how do they continue to trade??
I am so upset as there are no other options.

I would buy only the vinyl but how do I know how much and will I get it?

I don't have anything templates to go by just pictures.

I'm sure if you guys aren't catered for by a local company ......... Then i'm screwed.
What now?help

I can now get the material and the build.

All I need is a original set to copy! Any condition.

Anyone help here?

Wasn't Cheech and Chong worried about getting their upolstery stuffed with Dog Chit in Tijuana man?
Yeh, we had heard that too so we used to leave one guy there to watch it being done while we went off to see the 'donkey' show........
