I'm not sure this is allowed here and I am just trying to give mopar dudes and heads up but there is a red "restored" 66 belvedere 2 convertible with fender skirts it's red in red poly car for sale. The guy also has a survivor 67 sport fury. I went down to look at both of them 6 hour round trip for a buddy of mine in California. Man all i can say is send me a message before you spend your hard earned cash in either. They thought my buddy who is in California was going to wire the money sight unseen. Did they ever get a surprise. I just hate to see anyone especially someone overseas, taken for a ride. I don't normally rant but this clan of folks are real low class.

This is what we all should do when we can is inspect or have someone inspect a car - particularly completed ones - before buying. You did a good deed diesel. In the process also saved who knows how many members from a potential nightmare. Thx for the heads up.

It's probably a restored hemi 4 spd convertible for really cheap and he cooked up this story to keep people away!! Haha! No, just kidding. Diesel knows his $hit. Good of you to post the heads up!

I am in Sarasota, should have asked for a looksky before investing your time. He didn't have a yellow 64 dart conv. ? I am supposed to go see this car . where did you here about the cars, thought i was watching the usual suspects for leads.

I didn't see a yellow dart. My best friend found them on Craigslist. It is beautiful here in Florida right now so I didn't mind the ride but admittedly I would have rather spent the day at the beach or under my mopar.

Ask them for undercarriage pics. There is heavy heavy heavy aftermarket undercoating all over the entire bottom of the car and that is because of the rust. Im not talking about surface rust either.

Sure some folks may coat the shocks, the drum backing plates the leaf springs etc in this crap like they did but besides just looking like **** it is also hiding rust.

The paint has fish eyes all over it.

The driver side quarter panel was replaced and if you can zoom in on it you can see the bird **** welds someone did to hack it on.

ACE hardware sheetmetal screws holding the belvy 2 trim on

Spray paint engine rebuild and they didnt even remove the grease just painted over it.

Exhaust leak.

Rear brake lights inop

Scratch on quarter panel body line and passenger side door.

Power top doesnt work.

Needs ball joints.

None of the gauges work

Exhaust system is painted with chrome spray paint.

Loud exhaust leak.

Over spray on the soft seals everywhere

Over spray on the convertible top liner into the trunk.

Nevermind the auction paperwork they were scrambling to get out of both cars as I showed up early.

The seller tries to convey the idea that this car and the sport fury were a Doctors pride and joy his entire life.

The truth is some holisitic supposed doctor will show up who will then tell you about all the clinics he has setup across the world, all in countries with no regulations FYI.

With the auction paperwork in the trunk there was no way around it when I asked how long have you owned them. They bought them both at auction in March and now have put lipstick on pigs.

The "survivor" fury may have been a survivor but it was plugged in the front driver side at some point. Overspray under the hood. Patch panel on the quarter driver side panel with shitty paint blend.

Someone put a trunk pan in it as well.

The car isnt safe to drive around the block which I would have been ok with if it was an actual survivor of which it was not.

These cars do have their place in the market, just not at the prices they want or as advertised.

Just wanted to give a heads up to mopar folks.

We had negotiated a 38,000 dollar purchase price for both cars.

Oh and there will also be a total of 5 guys there. The one weirdo that will tell you how rich the doctor is and that its his mentor, then two tweaker looking dudes that will pour out of the wrecked RV that live in the parking lot next to the shop.

Good luck.

And FYI not tire kicking here. Ask the fella with the 67 GTX clone on here listed in the classifieds. Just bought that car cash no bs transaction.

i wish there was more mopar maniacs like you.
TY for looking out for others best interest.

also,question.
i saw that they sold in march at auction, did you see the Auctions name/location?
then someone could check the background of the cars even further?

It was a guy named "MIKE" out of south carolina but I couldnt catch the rest before they shuffled it away.

Also I brought a coworkers 22 year old college student son with me to drive the red car back and trailer the sport fury away (survivor car) so he is a neutral party and he was commenting on the weird feeling he got and the fact that the supposed "DOC" setup holistic treatment clinics in only countries were you dont need to be licensed. I got a kick out of that. The guy you will contact that is actually selling the cars will try to get you interested in some miracle injectable water based solution that cured his friends cancer and obesity lol

Buyer beware

thanks for the detailed account

another great example to not ever buy without personally checking the car/s in person
or someone who knows, looking at it in person...

good thing you did Diesel
a chip off the {org. from Concord Ca.} ol'Uncles block

Is that all that you found wrong with them..... Seems like you're being a bit picky there Diesel. Even trailer queens have some flaws if you look close enough ....

Go back, read the first line...car was very rusty and covered up.

Give them a buzz, snap up the great deal and while you are there get a bottle of his syrum to inject......
