I need to replace my headliner and am thinking of doing the underside of the roof with a reflective hust mat or similar material.
Questions are will it reflect the heat back out and keep the inside of the car a little coolsr, whitout ruining the vinyal top along with deading sound?
Will it stay up there or will the heat eventually melt the glue that holds it in place and let it fall. Between the reflective mat I am thinking of installing the normal insulation.
Am I going way to far on this or do Y'all think it will work? Oh yes I live near Fort Worth Texas and it gets plenty hot.

Thanks for your help and insight.

Hello. I would ask a headliner shop. The insulation that normally is up there is light and airy. The last thing you want to do is trap moisture. Plus even my light insulation I put up there on mine kind of hangs down so you may have a hanging down or weight issue depending on what you use. Hope this raises some concerns.
