Can anyone identify this ign box? Prestolite transistorized. Part number 2444639. Would like to know original application.
TIA.

I have one still mounted under the dash on this car.

A photo would be a smart addition to your question. May be @HALIFAXHOPS knows what it is.

Thanks guys. I have trouble with photos, and it is not my part. It was in the trunk of a 67 Belvedere my friend bought. It should be correct for this car, based on the info supplied.

67 Belvedere's didn't have electronic ignition, unless it's was possibly a RO car, but I don't think they did either. All the Hemi cars had dual point ignition, as well as 440 4-speeds.

Sounds like a Prestolite trans ignitor. Usually superstock cars, and a few Excalibur's had them also. And of course, can be add on. Just A cdi Box. Whats the dist number? It will help me ID it.

The car is a RO car. It was "sort of" a barn find. I will try to get the distributer number in a couple of days. But I think he mentioned that it is a dual point dist. The car is not real close to me, and my friend is pretty busy right now.
@HALIFAXHOPS Ray, could you tell me the wiring hookup for the box? I'm assuming one wire is +12v, one is ground, and one is from the points (just a guess).

Call me way easier. It uses special points also. There are a few different ones.

Really depends which box it is. They made at least three different ones.

The wiring is a complete nightmare. (At least for me.) But I think I can find a copy of it. If I ever get my old Dart back I won't be putting that on it. I'm not man enough. I know very little about 67 RO/WO cars but it's my understanding 64/65/67 had the black box and 68 had the blue box. Your part number sounds right for a 67 and should be black. I'll dig up more info.

Giving credit to these photos from Jim Schild's book on 65's and work done by Pete Haldiman and the NHOA.
