So the more I read the more questions arise. I did a search of the thread but still need some help.

I've installed a 440 in place of the tired old 318 in my 67 Satellite. I have the mopar electronic conversion distributor and an orange box. I am now in need of a coil. I've read there are oil filled/non oil filled, 1/5 ohms up to 3 ohms. Universal vs a specific application. Priced from $20.00 to a whole lot of money.

The engine was from a 77 Chrysler bored .030 over and other than a Hughes Whiplash cam it's basically a rebuilt stock application.

What coil will do the job and is the best bang for the buck?

Thanks.

If you want fatter sparks you should look for low primary winding resistance and inductance.
The more current you can pass thru the coil, the more energy you get to the sparks. But, the coil should match your electronic box. Search for minimum allowed resistance, or maximum allowed current, in the specification for your electronic box. If you find that data it will point you to the best coil for your setup.
This is of course only valid if you want to optimize your stuff, if you just want something that works then I can't give you any usable info :)
