So, I think we found the cause of a list of problems that was haunting my car but we're not sure...

The lever of the vacuum chamber of my ignition has a "2" marked on the inside. What does it mean and, is this a correct ignition for a stock+ engine?

Symptoms:
- running hot in trafic
- stottering at low rpm
- lazy on throttle

Setup:
- 383 4bbl
- 4speed

We also removed the MSD Blaster 2 and replaced it with an original. Comes with chrome ECU (yeah i know).

Do you mean the vacuum advance on the distributor? Not sure about the number 2 on the lever but the symptoms sound like they could be timing related.

Could be too little initial timing... that would cause the sluggish stutter at low rpms.

Try advancing the timing a bit, see if it helps. What kind of distributor do you have?

It looks original but isn't ofcourse because it's electronic ignition. Looks like a aftermarket race-ish thing.
