In search of '65 Coronet 500

I am starting a search for a car that my dad owned in 1965. I have very little information about it, only know where it was registered, no idea of the VIN. It's a 1965 Dodge Coronet 500.

I am new to this game, so what I need is some advice of how to start the search to find this car.

Hello. This may sound stupid but give us everything you know. State,Town,County. Then how about color,what year it was sold. Thats a start. Good luck.

Here is what I could come up with:
bought new in 1965, registered in Tyler County, Texas, sold locally in 1967 or 68.
Coronet 500 2dr
color: light/pale yellow with white hard top
426 wedge, 4spd, with hurst shifter, 3:23 rearend

Modifications form stock:
replaced 3:23 with 4:56 gears
added dove fenderwell headers
