Most ridiculous prices I have ever seen!! I was going to finish my shop and garage, but, OSB 7/16" 47.00 bucks a sheet, I need 50 sheets. It was 8 to 10 a sheet. 2X4's over 8 bucks. Thought I'd try metal stud, 6.50 a piece. Screw them I'll out wait them.

Been in the custom cabinetry business for over 35 years and can't recall not even being able to get certain raw materials (hdf over plywood core in our case) from a major local supplier. We have to use what's available, even resorting to using mdf core with veneer so thin it's like paper, imported from Vietnam. Custom doors made by an outside manufacturer now have double the lead time. Why? They can't find enough manpower. Guess the unemployment checks are still more appealing than punching in at 5:30 am.

That was my point, it's not just the money, it's the thought that they are making it of the backs of people who've been hurt by all the shut downs and now this. I hope they choke on it!

Yup: I still have a few things I want to build around the house but I stopped this spring when prices started to get to the rape stage. I can wait them out. I have been thinking of selling my 400 sq ft of wooden deck though, never thought I'd see the day.
