Gonna pick up one of these Indy tunnel rams for my 511 and would like to know if these can be bolted on right from the box or do they need some massaging inside before use?

can this tunnel ram be opened up to max-wedge ports??
Good to know. I will be picking 1 up right after the holidays. Who has the best price on these? It is already max wedge ported.
Some gasket match the ports but it's very close right out of the box.

The Indy T ram works very nicely. Heavy, yes, but it works great with twin 650 billet BLP carbs.I think all dealers are very close. The issue will be shipping. Its heavy as hell. I know this intake would be hard to find used. Everyone I have seen for sale is the RB version.

Wasn't aware anyone was banned. Not sure how to take your post, but yes, i had the T ram running great first season. Cold engine, one pump, hit the button, fires up and idles. Warm engine, no pump, hit the button, starts and idles. Does not go rich once warmed up. Can idle all day and not load up. Can drive most any where and still run 10.06@134. Manny old wife's tales about T rams not being street able, all false. These things are better than a throttle body fuel injection any day. You have to start with good clean carbs. Wanted to put this out there for anyone wanting a T ram on the street, but hearing all the BS stories that they cant be used on the street. I have vids to prove all of this if anyone is interested.Chris @SUPERSTOCKRACER or another alias @AndersonTommy

cool you got it to work well for ya'
5 years later (?)
Yes, 511, magna fuel 300 matching regulator, all -10 hose accept reg to carb it -6. Enderle linkage, BLP billet 650's. I think they are 1 11/16 blades with 1.320 venturi. I would have to ask Dom@ThumperCarbs to be sure. I have a pair of his BLP billet 950's for my 572 Hemi that i would like to try on my 511. Seems like t rams like too big carbs.I was just commenting/mesing with ya' on the time between posts,

anyway, good you got it working well
Yep it's mostly a myth
I drove with several different Tunnel Rams on the street, back in the day
when set up well they are just fine, I never had any real issues
some reek havoc on fuel distribution
sounds like the one you have doesn't have that issue,
many times they need staggered jetting on the carbs
far front & far rear ports/cylinders are/can be sometimes
either really lean &/or really fat cylinders
a lot depends on the plenum (the style) above the intake runners
& it's runners relationship (or size) to match up to the carb
not have a bunch of dead air spots
I had a buddy with a old Offy TR 2x4bbls on a hot 383
that was a nightmare to tune, he had no patients too
it didn't stay on it long
went to a Edelbrock STR15 (box style cross ram) with a single Holley 950cfm 3bbl
after a lil jetting, ran like a raped ape, all kinds of myths about them STR manifolds too...
Your combo
this was on a low deck block 511 correct ?
what fuel pump & any bypass or reg. etc. did you run ?
Enderle linkage or do they have their own (?) w/sideways carbs
I assume the carbs are the Pro-flo Billet series ?
what venturi or blade size ?
just curious
any photos you can share ?, to see the set up
That is nice to know. I have BLP 950's for my 572, i may want something bigger for it.Tunnel rams just take a little tuning. I run a Indy tunnel ram on my Hemi with two 1050 Dominators on the street and strip with no issues.
950's with more main jet may be just fine and may be more of a pump shot. That is nice to know. I have BLP 950's for my 572, i may want something bigger for it.
Only thing i can say to that is the Indy t ram is very heavy and with both carbs plus linkage is probably around 40#. I have been told the T ram also like a bit different setup for racing, like higher stall verts and low gears. Back in the day when these t rams came on the scene, 4 speeds and low gears were the rage. The only negative on these t rams that i see is weight and expense.Gotta be honest. Buddy went to the indy TR on his 526 big indy head 10.0 D150 and picked up zero from the single 4 bbl. With the thumper carb this is the **** setup.
