I think we have spoken about this before, but I have a Mopar friend with a stroked RB (490+ci) duster with the mod man intake (3x2 holleys) and loves it. Said it took some time tuning, but their was a night and day difference in performance in comparison to the factory Edelbrock intake manifold. He also uses Indy EZ heads. 12:1 CR.
IIRC , the demon carbs are only about 250cfm - would most likely be too small for maximum performance .Recommend holleys .
I have a modman 2x4 , they seem suited primarily to stroker combinations or high revving motors . The plenum is very large with shortish runners . With my stock stroke 440 I found the motor lost bottom end , lost 60' but ran same MPH. I measured the plenum volume and fitted a 10% reduction insert , then added 4 hole spacers . The 2" spacers were best but fitment issues were a pain . I will try again later this year after the track championship to see if my current cnc ported heads with their increased flow will help the manifold work better .
Ron good to see your brother try one , I know a few other NSS guys are using them .
Good luck
My brother fired his new eng up with the Mod Man intake and 2 Eddy carbs Saturday and it sounds awesome. He is going to race it this wednsday evening at a T & T and I think I might run my 63 also. Will let you know how his car does. His 64 has run 10.20's in good air with a 499 so he is hoping to run high 9's or better if all goes well. Its calling for good air so I figure thats a great time to run the 63 again. Ron
