Hi
I have my new 727 installed into my polara. The shifter cable seems to be not to much of an issue to install. I hope? If any one has any thoughts?
Its the kick down im interested in. Can I use my old kick down that was on my original tranny or do I have to get something else? Can I use my original speedo cable as well?

Perhaps I missed a previous post ...

What engine/trans combo was originally installed?

There shouldn't be a problem using your original kickdown! The same with the speedo cable.

This is a later model 727 as apposed to the push button style??
I put a later style 727 tranny in my 64 Polara and had to change the speedo cable...used a Lokar cable kit....
The original steel kickdown rod worked fine....

I had a console shift. Two cables running to the tranny. Now I have a 69 tranny housing. Still some things to sort out. Like the speedo cable and the reverse light.

If the shifter has a micro switch for reverse just tie in your back up lights to that. Go from a constant hot to the switch and then to the wire for your lights.

Thats an awesome idea for the back up light. Will do.
