installing new shifter question

I just got my new hurst shifter today and I have a question. It says to place all three levers in to neutral. Where do I put the levers on the transmission so there in neutral?

1 & 2 center, 3 & 4 center and reverse to where driveshaft turns with drive wheels off the ground. Or if you can not turn driveshaft it is not in neutral.

Be sure you have all three levers in the shifter exactly in the neutral position. There should be a hole going thru all three that you can put a snug fitting drill bit thru. ........................MO
