intake valve margin width

My machine shop guy cut down the combustion chamber side of my 2.14 size intake valves. It left a very narrow valve margin. one was so narrow was like a knife edge. That one he replaced. My question is: will this weaken the valve? I dont want the valve to pull thru the head and ruin the seat area. I found new Mopar Performance 2.14 intake valves for 18.00 each. Any one know where to get some more reasonably priced? Thanks
