Interesting story about To Live And Die In L.A.

Ok the movie was directed by a guy named William Friedkin many think he copied the style from Michael Mann's Miami Vice. They are VERY similar stylistically. Some think Mann sued Friedkin over it. What's weird TLADIL starred William Peterson who's other big crime movie was Manhunter. An early version of Silence of the Lambs before the Jodie Foster movie. Manhunter was directed by Michael Mann and is very close to Miami Vice.

To Live and Die is on Prime.

It’s a pretty intense movie. I remember seeing it at the theater.

I just saw it on prime also. Pretty good movie I thought.
I also saw another old one called “ the 7 ups “ with Roy sheider. A lot of car chase action. One of the bad guy drivers looked an awful lot like the charger driver on Bullit.
Anyone out there know if it was or not?

The Seven Up's chase is heavy on Pontiacs. Hickman drives the snot out of that big Pontiac boat. I even spotted a '73 Grand Am on the street.

In Live And Die there's a crazy car chase. Some full size cars really take a beating. Did you know Hickman was one of the last people to see James Dean alive? They were gassing up together before the wreck.

The Seven Ups is a favorite. There is a shot of pure terror on the face of Hickman's partner and I am positive it was real! They come around the corner and take the door off the Opel Kadette and near took out the camera man!
