Guys my numbers matching 1970 RR has black seats and black carpet on the interior. These colors are called out on the fender tag. But the seat belts are dark blue! It seems unlikely that the factory would have done this, on the other hand, who would have changed the seat belts on a stock car?

Also, the seats and door panels are ALL black - no silver trim. All of the replacement seat covers and door panels seem to have the silver stripe. Was ALL black an option? Why does everyone sell black with a silver welt?

Anyone have any expertise on interior color and trim?

Thanks

Sorry. Bucket seats with the Buddy seat in the center, and the funny 3-point belts where the shoulder and lap require two separate buckles. BTW the rears are the same - solid black seats and 3 blue lap belts...

I believe on the roadrunners all black is correct, and GTXs have the silver welt on the seats and the door panels.

Actually browsing through the Legendary catalogue, I see color code 100 for black, 157 for black/charcoal with black welt. My GTX has code 159 black/charcoal with silver welt. same for door panels. Hope this helps.

Are they Blue or are they Black belts that have faded?...although mine faded more to a Green than Blue...

Seriously, it's not a bad idea to have the belts re-webbed...after all, they are supposed to keep you in the car in the unfortunate event you are in an accident.

Couple places that do it:

Or if you know someone you trust sewing life saving equipment, you can search 'seatbelt webbing' and find a vendor selling belt material. Just make sure it's a full 2" wide and meets automive safety standards. Oh! And don't waste time/ money on fabric dyes...I tried. It doesn't take to the webbing.

x2 faded out . My carpet is "greenish" but under the rear bench the color is brown.... same with the door panels ( carpet )

Greetings Juergen

I DID find out. The seat belts are blue. One of my buddies described them as "ink" - really dark blue. The are blue all the way down at the bottom of the webbing inside of the front seatbelt roller. You know what else I discovered? My headliner is blue!

From the VIN Plate, my car is:

P6XA: Interior Trim - Bucket Seats Black and Charcoal Carpet
TX9: Upper Door Panels Black

I don't know that I will ever find the answer, but someone either changed out the seat belts and the headliner, or my car has a blue and black interior. I am only the third owner of the car, and the second didn't make those changes. It's a mystery I guess...

Pull out the back seat and see if you can find the build sheet!

Wow. Do they actually make mistakes like that? I guess in the old days maybe... kind of a cool trivia fact.

HSORMAN: I tried that when I first got the car, unfortunately no sign of it anywhere. I've since had all the seats out multiple times, and have never found it. Lost in time i guess...

I have a friend that used to work for Chrysler as a dealer rep. The stories!!!!
They would not hold up a line because a part was missing in many cases unless something didn't work. If they didn't have a piece, they would either change a color or replace the item with something else, usually a more expensive part.
If the buyer complained about it then the dealer would have to warranty it at the local shop. Happened all the time.
I have 68 vent window handles on my 67 Charger. I highly doubt the PO changed both vent window frames before I got it. The phrase I've heard many times was "what ever was in the bin".
