:angry9:Restoring a 69 Charger. It had no front buckets in it when I bought it but the rear seat was intact. I recently bought a pair of bucket seats out of a 72 road runner. (I want highbacks in my 69 charger) I'm changing the interior color to black and need to buy new upholstery all around. Dilemma is does anyone know if the rear seat covers available at YO or Legendary for 72 will fit my 69 rear seat? Suggestions?

I'm confused, but welcome to FBBO anyway {YO or Legendary for 72 will fit my 69 Charger rear seat} wtf does that even mean ??, Suggestion - can yo be a little more clear...

He is asking if a rear seat cover for a 72 B-Body rear seat, that are available from Year One or Legendary, will fit the seat frame/foam on the rear seat of a 69 Charger.

I would think the seat cover for a 72 would be different than a 69 cover but I could be wrong.

I know the front bucket seat frames are basically the same as 70 B-Body buckets but I am not sure about the rear seat.

I just tried a 73 rear seat in my 66, ant it is completely different. 5 inches narrower, and the back is 5 inches taller!!
An A body seat back is a better match!

However, I currently have a 68 seat bottom in there and it is the same as the 66.

Short answer- no.

If you need matching seat patterns, try 1970 covers, they have high back buckets and a the rear bench you need.

Love your username, like many Mopar nuts, i've been a Petty fan forever! Thanks for the feedback. So i'm thinkin if I get a new set of foam for 1970 high back buckets and install them on the 72 seat frames, i'll be able to get a full set of covers (including the rear seat) that will match. I despise piecing things together like this but 1970 Charger seats are very hard to find.

IIRC, the 1970 bucket seat top portion is slightly different than the 71-74.

Try to find pics and you'll see what I mean.

I don't know if the frame is different, or just the padding.

There may also me a release button location issue.

I don't think either issue is serious enough to be a deal killer, though.
