Hi People....

Please allow me to intoduce myself. Im a retired electrical engineer who owns an almost numbers matching 1970 Plymouth GTX, a 440+6 car with a 4 speed. VIN # RS23V0A*******. The car was built during the 3rd week of November 1969 as a 1970 car. As noted in the vin, the car was built at the Lynch Road plant. The fender tag shows little information an is typical of Lynch Road cars. The car is almost origional, except I rebuilt the engine quite afew years ago. The mistake I made was I assembled the engine with 11:1 TRW forged pistons when good gas was available. I rebuilt the engine with full grooved mains to allow for continuous rod bearing oiling. Main and rod clearances are 0.001-0.0015, measured with micrometers, not plastic guage. The N96 air grabber is totally functional. The car has the A34 super track pack, max cool rad, tourque drive fan, PDB, PS with Saginaw pump and cooler, the rear is the 4.10:1 Dana. The car has the reverse lock out linkage intact and totally functional....most guys remove the parts when installing headers. The car is Torred with a black vinal top, has black irridescent tape stripes. I'll try and post a pix later. BTW, the cam is crane equal to the mopar 292 degree .509 lift with crane roller rockers, chrome vanadium valve springs.

Anyway, I'll post some pix later.
Cheers,
RJ Renton (Bob)

Welcome aboard Bob. The '70 GTX is a nice car, and I also have one....we're going to need some pics of yours someday soon. :hello2:

BTW, I am an Electrician....so not too far distant from your trade. :glasses10:

Welcome to Mopar University Bob. Sounds like you could be a good professor here at the U. Like Kiwi says - we need our pics. So when you get a chance ..

Welcome from another 70 V code owner.

Welcome, Bob - from another '70 GTX lover!

Welcome from Maine!

Gentlemen,
Thanks for the welcome....I posted a help request in response to all that asked about pictures. This site, like most forum sites has its own idiosyncrosies ...re posting of pictures.....I tried to post 13 jpg pictures ...to no avail, as I could only upload 5 pix. I requested help from the moderator to explain if there is a band width issue. When I get an answer to my question, I'll be happy to try and answer any questions posed.

As far as GetX'd comment goes, I guess I'm a MOPAR person as I have many years experience with Mopar stuff and have built several engines etc. When swap meet surfing, I go with a list of part numbers, and do not rely on vendors to really know what they have....many do know but far more do not. Case in point, I found a original torque drive fan clutch for 426 / 440 part # 2806070, attached to a steel 7 blade fan with a bent blade...I inquired to the seller what was it from.....a Fury 318 with A/C was the answer...his price was $15. I said one of the blades was bent and he reduced the price to $10. Used in fair condition with any blades is +/- $200.....it pays to know what you are after.

Anyway...thanks for the welcome...and when I get info on how to post pictures, I will do so.
Cheers,
RJRENTON
