I live in Illinois and was looking to run in a few events next year that are close to Illinois.

Cordova, IL has the Nostalgia fest in late June. I heard that the Monster Mopar weekend was moving to Indy for Sept. So I am looking for one more event to fill the void. I guess I could do a NMCA event.

usually NSS schedules as well as regular season schedules don't come out till 1st or 2nd week of January around here.
I get in touch with our tracks either last week in December or 1st week in January and list the dates we are looking for.
NENDRA races 15-16 races a year. But we are on the right coast so things might be run differently around this area.

I just handed in our NENDRA Schedule for 2011 to Lebanon Valley. It looks like 13 race dates this coming year and 2 at Island Dragway.

This is from http://www.nssracing.com/

Date Track
March 18-20 Bradenton, Fl
April 14-17 Commerce, GA *
June 3-5 Mechanicsville, MD
June 23-26 Joliet, IL *
July 8-10 Fontana, CA * **
August 5-7 Bowling Green, KY ***
August 26-28 Milan, MI
October 6-9 Indianapolis
November 11-13 Houston, Texas * **

* Combination NMCA/NMRA Event

** Non-Points event

*** Expanded NSS Payout

Additionally, I've been told that the Points
Championship will no longer be a "Chase" type of system, but will revert back to
best 5 of 7 events — throwing out two races, plus bonus points for 5 races, 6
races, and 7 races.

Cranky, how could anyone travel all over the country to do all those events?
Now with diesel climbing high again, i Cant see how car count would be high.
Am I missing something here?
I'd love to race in some of those events but mileage is out of control.

You should live in the Houston area and try it! It's insane. I have a couple of buddies doing it but I have a couple that are not because of that. We have that one race in Houston but it's a non points race but I think we got 14 or so cars to show up.....a great bunch of guys to hang out with too.

CRANKY, would love to race in that event. I bet competitive racing with alot of great NSS cars.
Too bad I'm way too far away.

Looks like I will be making the trip to Indy in Oct. The Joliet event is the same weekend as Nostalgia Fest at Cordova,Il so won't be making that one. I may have to look into the Milan race. Will be a long drive but I have never been to that track. Now if I knew if/when the Monster was and my schedule would be set for 2011.

Go to Milan. You will not regret it. By the far the fastest track I have ever been to. Its a lot of fun!

The bowling Green race is the new NSS summer nationals, that will be a good one.

just to let u know NENDRA is NOT NSS....... its a glorified bracket race that will let anything run. stick to the events that follow NMCA rules..

why don't you mind you own business. you got too much to say about our club.

There is also a very nice NSS race in July at Norwalk. Midwest Nostalgia SS is running it, NMCA rules, index dials. Plus a special race on Saturday for F/X cars. Many of the fastest NSS cars in the country will be there.
