Is there a complete rebuild kit for the front end worth buying for a 73 satellite? or should I just piece part it?

poly or rubber for the bushings? The car won't see a ton of use, but will be a driver when done.

any advice is appreciate as well as best place to purchase.

Thanks

I would go with the poly. They will last a long time. Have you checked with the major suspention companies? PST should have what you are needing.

I bought the polygraphite control arm set from PST, but bough a moog set for everything else from Energeysuspensionparts. The PST stuff is fine (even though they didn't know Charger 66 LCAs and Coronet LCAs are the same, and said they wouldn't work (but sent them anyway.

The Energeysuspensionparts ordeal is a different story. Bought a kit for all BJ and tie rod ends, but also had to buy adjuster sleeves. Was $200 less than local (Advance), but they sent two different sleeve styles, and three TR ends in one style and one in another, AND one was marked on the box "defective" and was for the other side.

I've had to explain to them SEVEN times to two different people over the past three weeks what's wrong and waht they need to do.

Jury is still out. I'll be posting that full story elsewhere.

Part it together yourself with either Moog or Spicer parts for the meat and potato's side of it. Rock Auto or Bill Rolick has your parts..Skip that ebay chinese special package garbage. Why go Wal-Mart with your Steering/Suspension. It's one of the front runner's on comfort-ride/performance/safety of your vehicle.

Just my 2 cent's. Good luck what ever way you go.

...all Moog tie rod ends and ball joints from local Discount/Advance was $500.
Neither Autozone nor Napa carries Moog for my 66.
They might for a 73, though.

I paid $300 for mine (all Moog) and $0 shipping, but the order was muffed and the customer service/communication SUCKS! This was a small kit.
They have sent me pre-paid RMA's but the weights are wrong and they only sent 2 labels for 3 parts.
they are also refunding (supposedly) the adjusters, as I really don't need them and it's one less thing to try to explain. If it's worth 200 bucks to put up with the hassle and delays.....

PST control arm bushings (and swaybar bushings) are fine. This is a small combo kit.

Used Rock Auto for Strut bushings ("improved" design) and PG classics for T bar boots.

Best combo of quality and price I could find.

I would not buy a kit, they are a mix of good and bad companies.

I got my Moog parts from Rockauto.com, great thing about them, is that all the parts are categorized, so findiing all the parts you need is easy.

I bought all Moog parts and spent $200 for 4 ball joints, 4 tie rods and all front suspension bushings, plus a voltage regulator. Also, got 5% off, which just about covered the shipping.

Only thing I did not like, is that they drop ship, so I paid 3 shipping costs and got the parts on 3 different days. Ordered all the parts week ago Thursday and received the last parts today.

If you want all the parts quickly and do not mind paying a little extra, go to SummitRacing and if you need them now and want to blow a lot, go to local parts store and if you want to save and have the time, go to Rockauto.

By my calculations Rock Auto is $284 beore shippping.
(4x TRE@$43 +2x UBJ@$16 +2x LBJ@$40) (OK, 73 has 4x screw in BJ, there's a $50 diff)

I didn't have a discount code when I ordered, and the price was a bit cheaper with Energy.

Had I known the hassle I was about to get, I would have gladly paid the few dollars extra. My Rock Auto strut bushings came in less than a week. I did use the discount on those. I'll definately use them again.

When I need parts like that, I get the mfgr's part number and search the web. I usually go to frugalmechanic.com and shop them. But i keep finding that if I go to amazon.com. with the RIGHT part number, I get the best prices! I never thought of going there for auto parts, but they really do deliver! Plus free shipping over $25 I think, and no tax!
