Is this a Chrysler Electronic Distributor?

Haven't had one of these before and figured it was a Mopar Performance distributor until I pulled it to check it out and adjust the advance. But - I can't find any part numbers or other identification marks on it. So does it look like a Mopar Performance item or something generic like a Summit distributor or ?? Seems to be made OK, has adjustable centrifugal advance and has a tan distributor cap on it.

Also it seems to have some potential adjustment on the star lobe (reluctor) and not sure what that the purpose of that is - you can see two grooves down on it and if you blow it up there is an arrow between the two pointing to the left. I marked how it was positioned but what is the purpose of the two-positions, if anyone knows?

The centrifigal advance doesn't look like any of the mopar distributors I've ever seen.
The reluctor can be used for a small block or big block.
The hole pickup coil assembly looks to be the same as original equipment.

The mech advance looks like what my Mallory dist has and my dist is an all mech dist. I have heard that Mallory did some of the MP dist but dont know for sure ? Ron

Thats a adjustable MP distrib, hard to find now has the mallory guts.

It is pretty much this one, but when offered as a Mopar Performance piece ( same unit just reboxed and relabeled ) included couple more of springs than the ones Mallory offered. They came with the adjusters gauges, which now Summit have available under their brand ( not anymore from Mallory )

Need to note, the rotor on these fits around 80* offset than the stock ones. So if you want to match the number 1 on cap with the cylinder, the oil pump/dist shaft must be indexed accordingly and not anymore like factory made.

That looks like what I must have so that should help quite a bit. I wish MP had included the hash marks down on the neck advance adjustment but I may order one of those tuning kits.

December issue of Mopar Action had article on electronic ignition. They mentioned and showed picture of a distributor sold by Mopar Performance that was made by Accel. It has a large brass shaft that mounts the rotor and adjustable advance stops. They say that they are a total shitshow, and not to waste time on them. They mentioned spark scatter because of small, light advance weights.

They are close, would not call them exact. Within a degree at least my set. Remember they are plastic also. Be nice if some one made a metal set of them. I might use them a few times a year, but it is easy for me with the machine to check it out afterwards.

Thanks for the answer. The smaller ones ( 12-14 ) just seemed to take up a lot of the
slot to my eye. Going to update to a better distributor in the near future anyway.
