A few years back someone posted that a A/C evaporator core can and will ignite the dead leaves in a heater box.
I just bought a 1973 Charger and a previous owner disconnected the refrigerant lines from the compresser to the evaporator core.
I was testing the heater to see if the heater core leaked and I saw smoke pouring form the A/C vents. The way the Charger/Cornonet contol switch is designed, you have to pass through A/C and max A/C before you can select heat or vent
So I wanted to know if i selec A/C or Max A/C, if I'm in fact powering the evaporator core the and if I almost started a fire?
Until I reinstall A/C, I just want the heat to work
Is there any way to have the heater work and not provide power to the A/C?
Very Respectfully
