It amazes me, that so many people are out there selling classic cars ( or any thing for that matter ) priced at 40k to 70k dollars and they post one damn picture of it. No interior shots, no engine bay shots. Don’t tell you engine size. One, damn picture. I believe the tactic is, see what I got. Come and take a better look. Well, my tactic is. If you don’t have the brains or decency to post more than one picture of a car, I might be interested in. Im usually moving on. I like people that put fourth a little effort. And don’t jerk me around wondering.
A little of it is tactic.
A lot of it is laziness.
Most of it is stupidity.
But, a lot of this comes from people that seriously sells cars. It burns my ***, rant over. Lol !

That’s no kidding bud. I might work with 30 guys at a given time. They all make $35 an hour in over time. 28 of those 30, intentionally do the very least they can. These are all the types that all they do is whine about other people that feel self entitled and people stealing jobs, lol ! The thing is, their job doesn’t require any physical strength. And they still do the least they can.
 
Another reason the post one pic other than being lazy is because the car, motor, interior or whatever had been thrown together and not worth showing. Many people have a 10-15k car, watch Barret Jackson and poof now think their car is worth 40k, hence one pic. Or they're just lazy lol.
I feel for you at work altho we work outside in all weather and it's horizontal boring so even if the weather is sunny and dry, we use water which equals a lot of mud. These young kids don't want anything to do with getting muddy yet the want the pay. Monday at noon I hear "is it Friday yet ?". I can't imagine what things will be like in 5 more years...I'm 52 and have set myself up, 10 more years it's someone's else's mess I guess.

I agree, in the part you said about not with showing. But, this comes from the big time guys too. That I know for a fact the interior is very nice based on the outside of the car. How about showing it to someone. So they can at least see the colors ? It’s stupid. If I’m trying to attract someone that might be willing to travel hundreds of miles and spend thousands of dollars. Im posting pics of everything. So, they don’t have to second guess themselves. This just doesn’t apply to fly-by-night sellers. The big boys do it too. Look on Ebay. They rarely post interior pics. Yeah a few post videos and that is better than any interior pic. But, only a few post video.

Just like the bad intentional photos. Photos taken at 6:50 pm, so you cant see the paint or interior well. A Kodak 110 would be an improvement for a lot of these ads. Or call for price. Why should I have to? I'm gonna have to know it anyway so what does this tactic do, really? Maybe raises a red flag, that's all.

Definitely a very nice and very valuable car. But, if you’re asking 100k nice. You should not be afraid or too lazy to post pictures of every foot of a 100k car. It’s ok and normal to ask a little too much. Depending what you have. If you’re over shooting on asking price. You have to convince someone that it’s an item that is worth paying a little more than what it’s worth. I’ve over paid for a lot of stuff. Knew it at the time and was ok with it.
Dumb sellers out there too. Probably idiots playing with daddy’s money. Lol !
 
A: Have no knowledge of selling a car.

B: Trying to hide something. I've known several dealers that would intentionally take a vehicle to an evening auction, instead of a daytime one, to hide body issues or some other issue.

I see it all the time ... "68 Charger for sale A/T" and one lousy photo taken with a phone and posted sideways. I don't give them the time of day. Maybe somebody scored good!

You would be surprised at how many lazy, stupid people that don’t clean anything they are trying to sell. Cleaning raises the value in some cases 2 or 3 hundred percent. If you clean a rock nice enough, someone out there will buy it. Lazy person, “ Nah let the buyer clean it.” I laugh at those idiots everyday.

Must be a different car, cause I just looked. Same 12 pics. Not a novice seller. Lots of very expensive cars. Not one interior shot on any. I just don’t understand the philosophy.
 
Well at least now I know what a b-body dash looks like when its painted body color !!
 
People are generally lazy.
I prefer that they don’t “clean” items I’m looking to buy. I like to see them in their unmolested condition. What I mean is, I don’t want some fool polishing the piss out of what I’m looking at. Take the McDonald’s wrappers out of the car, but don’t pressure wash the engine and lipstick up the car.

Over the last 20 years or so, I was very actively involved with vintage BMX bicycles. The best stuff is always the stuff that is found and sold “as is”.
Once some ignorant, but well intentioned, individual starts to “fix it up for sale” there is a 100% likelihood that they will damage the item and kill the desirability

I agree to some extent. I've seen rusty, greasy parts given a quick shot of Rustoleum and you know they've just doubled the price for that !! The flip side is the parts covered in grease and mud and you can't tell what the condition is underneath the crud. Each situation is different. A lot of times I'll tell the seller "I wish you hadn't painted that" or "it would sell faster if it was cleaned up a bit".
