I have been looking off and on for a sure grip center section for my car. I've contacted a couple of sellers without first checking the listing date [my fault] only to find out that the item is LONG gone.
I would suggest that "For Sale" or "WTB" ads have an automatic expiration date [30 days maybe?]. The seller [or potential buyer in the case of WTB] would then have to re-post.
It would keep the classified ad section cleaner.
Just a suggestion.

What are you looking for my buddy builds them as a business. I can ask what he gets for one tell me what you want witch case what gear . P.m. me

I think the 30 day idea is great. Who the hell would look through hundreds of ads. Items can always be reposted if not sold in the 30 days.

Thanks for responding. The application is my '65 Dodge Coronet 500. I am looking for a 489 case with a sure grip 4.10 or would consider a locker. I am retired [read: fixed income] and doubt that I can afford a new unit. I would be looking for something in the $650 price range.

Thanks.....there is a feature to allow someone to delete their ad but I don't think that it is used as often as [perhaps] it should be. I personally am just trying to avoid bothering a member who posted an ad in, say 2017, has sold his item, but didn't go back and delete it. It is an embarrassing situation for the seller as well as the potential buyer of the item. Hope that makes sense.

I am Pretty sure the thread closes automatically after no activity for 30 days.

Maybe i am wrong, but I contacted a guy that had listed an 8 3/4 with a locker in 2/17...[I failed to read the listing date], and he is the one who told me it was LONG gone.
Let's just let the administrator decide.........I was/am just trying to look for current listings, that's all.

There isn't a problem if they still have the part....most often though it has been sold.
Hey guys, I am not trying to start WW III.....I just made a suggestion, that's ALL....let's let the administrator call the shots, huh?

NOT deleting the ads helps resolve conflicts if they occur.

all good here,Im not getting excited. Sorry

Would you not have saved all pertinent information from the seller when the purchase was originally made? I would.

Just the admin's policy, and I agree with it.

Yeah, Admin. Policy & I agree.
Some of those ads date back to 2015. A person REALLY has to watch the original posting dates so that they don't waste a [former] seller's time or their own.
Again, I am not trying to start an argument, just making a suggestion.
