That is cool, only $50's...
in late 1940's or maybe mid 1950's currency...
I bought "a lot" closed bid from an auction once
{Placer County} that was a Military Jeep
everything was wrapped in cosmoline, everything was new
I thought I was bidding on only 1 Jeep, for $500,
that was on display
It turned out, I won the bid, I was floored for only $500 !!
they asked how I wanted to get them home ?,
I figured I go home & get my trailer, no big deal
but it was actually 4 Willys Jeeps from Army Surplus
I was shocked when they showed me the crates & the other 3 Jeeps
4 x 1946 CJA2 L-134 Go-Devil Flat Head 4 bangers,
all new/old Jeeps
all the rubber anywhere, seat covers, tires & seals were all junk,
I would have had to go thru all them,
put new seals & tires, seat covers etc.
I sold 3 to pay for the 4th,
to do an engine swap & gear, tires change
& made a tidy little profit to boot...
Sold each for $1500's to a couple buddies...
