has anyone ran the Jegs 282/292 .465/.488 cam in a 440??? I wanna put it in my smogger 1975 440....its a 114 separation angle so it should keep cylinder pressure up.....any thoughts. I have a 750 speed demon, torkerII, factory stall, 3.23 suregrip 9.25 rear..
Looking for a good sound and pull on a shoestring budget.

I had a Crowler "Monarch" back in the day, 280 / 460 lift. Had that 383 in the mid thirteens. Nice sounding idle, good pulling thru the mid range. Works well with a stock converter.
I'm looking for something like you're talking about. Do you have the Jegs part number?

I'm not sure but if you do it please post the results. I may go that route with a 440 I have.

That cam isn't much different than the larger Summit cam that a lot of people have used with good luck.

the jegs cam is the same as the summit 6401. i have a 6401 in a stock 440 and really like it. smooth idle and a bunch of torque; very nice driver. i wouldn't use stock springs with it, in fact i'm sure lopo springs will coil bind and don't think the red hipo's will work either.
