Does anyone know the stock jetting or a close ball park for a 60's 440?

The 68 FSM says .101" and .089" for the AVS with 1-11/16" primary and secondary throttle bores. Metering rods are 16-542 for manual and 16-546 for auto, but no measurement info on the step diameter. I may have a set I can measure but not where I am at the moment.

Oh, you can probably start out with .073" x .047" Eddy strip kit rods. Seems to me that is what the 750 AFB comes with.

I have a 800 cfm thunder series edelbrock on the car now.

Well, then that changes everything. Jetting is not determined by the engine but rather the venturi size. Should be easy to find info for the Eddy carb.

the edelbrock catalog gives factory jetting and metering rods for an 800. trying to use factory afb/avs jetting for the 800 won't work.

Does anyone know what combination of jets and/or metering rods I need to use to get close to the factory setting?

If you look at the Edelbrock manual it gives a table for selecting the jet / rod combo to give a specific A/F ratio. Start with the middle setting, which should be how the carb was shipped.

I thought that the carter afb was also offered in 800 cfm?
