im sorry but i got to vent, this so called greatest player in the world and lebron had the gull to say in a press conference, are you kidding me. he is good but far from the greatest. he complains about getting fouled. he lowers his shoulder and should have offensive fouls like crazy. im getting sick of it. there is so many players better than him. i know, i know this is my opinion but the MAN, THE BEST EVER. JUST POETRY IN MOTION, SMOOTH AS SILK.....6'6" OUT OF NORTH CAROLINA...MICHAEL JORDAN. he got his *** beat by the pistons for three years in the playoffs. did he complain hell no, he came back and let his basketball skills tell them that hes coming for more, which made him better. he went up against the celtic team which had 5 hall of famers and knocked down 63 points. bird called god dressed as MJ. that right there is one of the best compliments you could ask for. then the knicks, pacers an jazz. tons of hall of famers that he beat. his will an desire is unmatched. that is why he is 6 for 6 in the NBA FINALS. oh yeah not only i think he is the best player in the world he had the best team in the world. if the bulls played lebron for any team. rodman would just mess with him he would be destroyed in under 2 minutes. thanks for my rant. i was lucky to see jordan play live at the stadium an united center and he is just unbelievable basketball player....TRULY THE BEST IN THE WORLD.

I personally can't stand basketball at all but I think the big problem here is just the mentality of these athletes now days, they get paid ridiculous money and as a result their heads swell like hot air balloons. Floyd "MONEY" Mayweather has got to be king of all asses though!

I am not a big James fan but he is among the greatest to ever play. The difference is that MJ, Magic or Bird and other greats would never proclaim themselves the best ever. Pretty low class.

The Detroit Pistons helped make Jordan a great player ( his coach was great also)...the bulls team cut there teeth in them days...once they figured it out, they were the best team to click in many many years....Jordan has more class in a tag-less t shirt that james has in his whole ghetto life!!!

James is very good........ but he is no Jordan...... too many missed layups, missed free throws, and turn overs....... Jordan also had ice in his veins like no other....... James may not even be top 25 all time

I don't remember the part where he said "ever." His stats for the series prove that he is currently the best player. 6 finals is 6 years. Thats a statement. And given that he doesn't always have the best supporting cast, it shows he can elevate everyone around him.

I am glad that Golden State one though!!

I stopped watching long ago. I think when the shorts were normal gym shorts. Chew on this: Wilt and Bill Russell made $100,000 and $100,001 a year, respectively.

I stopped watching basketball after Jordan retired. no reason to keep watching

At one time I was a huge NBA and Seattle Supersonics fan, but I also enjoyed seeing Jordan, Larry Bird, Magic Johnson and all of the other greats of that era. I haven't been to a game or watched one on TV in years. To me the game has been going downhill for many years and for many reasons. The last straw was when the league moved the Sonics to OKC. It was a classless move by the league and the owners involved and it showed how little the league cares about the fans and the cities they are playing in. JMHFO.

The Golden State Warriors might have something to say
about how good Labron James claims he is too...LOL

I'm by far no Basketball fan let alone NBA fan by any stretch of the imagination,
I much prefer NCAA & even then it's a joke anymore IMO
I rarely watch anymore PERIOD !!
mainly just the final 4 or NBA finals, if a west coast team is in it...

IMO it's become just a bunch of overactive pituitary glands {aka freakishly tall}
running up & down the court & then hanging off the rim...

Bill Russell

I use to play Golf with him at Rancho Murieta occasionally, arguably one of the best

OK I'll add a couple,
Kareem Abdul Jabar
&
Magic Johnson
&
Larry Bird
&
Charles Barkley
sort of anyway
Wilt Chamberlin...LOL
100pt's in a single game

I was at a Buck - Bulls Game(back when), sitting right behind the bulls bench..... in the shoot around b/4 the game there was a row of wheel chair people watching...MJ got down on their level and talked to each one!....then one of them put a "cheese head' on MJ and he finished the shoot-around with it on his head!...the place went wild!.....:icon_pray:

he is great.

I don't watch sports. If I have time I would rather go shoot hoops poorly in driveway than watch someone else do it well. Same with baseball and football. The only sport I will watch is Bull Riding and only will watch that live. Something about that sport feels different than the rest.

I could have the whole NBA season over in a month. Find a gym, give each team 100 points and play the last minute. Regular season and playoffs done. And virtually all pro athletes are overpaid it's called supply and demand.

Sorry, but basketball is just soccer for grown-up American men. Simple, little strategy, planning, or thinking, and anyone can play. Boring. To paraphrase the line from Waiting "Being the greatest basketball player is like being the smartest kid with Down syndrome."

No strategy in soccer? lol. Maybe if you are watching youth soccer. Google some clips of Lionel Messi going through entire defenses and scoring or setting up cross (which is a play). To people that don't ever watch the sport, I understand it looks chaotic. But true fans can see plays build.

I love the NFL but if soccer, hockey, basketball, etc got to reset their plays every 3 seconds of play time while looking at pictures of the defense lining up, it would be boring as hell.

Plus soccer has 45 minutes of play with no commercials - the NFL would die with that kind of business model.
