is this worth it? found on another forum that i snoop. they did make them for motor homes up till then.
seems cheap to me, ooops, cheap is a harsh word, reasonably priced.:icon_scratch::icon_scratch:

I am cleaning out the shop and selling the 413 and 727 I pulled out of a 1972 Winnibago. It ran great and had low miles - 36,000. Complete except for carb and water pump.
$400

No carb no water pump...$300 cash LOL.
I have always wanted to build a 413...have not figured out why yet I just do LOL.
If I was in a better place right now I would jump on it...just don't have the room.
AL

yup they did. had a couple 413's over the years, always ran well for me and i thought they were a little more "responsive" than the 383's of the day. Dodge used that engine in the truck chassis which is what that Winnibago motor home was built on.

about right...I would say not cheap as You are buying a pig in the polk

Idk, 413 always seemed to be a bit of a boat anchor to me.

This ^^^^^^ Especially with zero off the shelf piston availability. Certainly it would be different if pistons were offered in EVER displacement size like for a chebbie.

Go in with $300 and see what happens. The 413 is not too bad of an engine.

tell me if I'm wrong, but isn't a 413 the same as 440 just smaller piston holes or are the crank and rods different. As well(different stroke)

Yep, smaller bore 440. The crank is a slightly different forging but dimensionally the same as a 440. Like Rusty said, piston choices are very limited if you want anything over stock.

My buddy that I ran around with and street raced (oops, did I say that out loud?) for years ran a 413 in his '64 sport fury. Always ran HARD and respectable.
