The lower dash pads in my 68 Charger project are warped and distorted. I am thinking of sending them to Just Dashes for rebuild and am looking for some input from anyone who has had theirs done. I saw some pictures of a dash they did and it appears the stitching was not put in them. Other than that, they appeared nice. I had them do a dash pad on my 70 Challenger years ago and they did a great job on that with the correct stitching. Just wondering if I should give it a try or try to find some originals.

I checked them out as well. I watched there process on there web site. It looks like they use a vacuum process. It seem to me the stitching would have to be on the foam and show through after it has been placed in a vacuum. I am kind of leaning towards instrument specialties but haven't made a decision yet. I guess the best thing to do is to give Just Dashes a call. Let us know if you find anything out.

Finding a decent used original would probably pan out cheaper for you. I've used Just Dashes twice. Both times they did excellent work. I'd use them again. Only downfall is the healthy price, but you get what you pay for. I believe FBBO member Coronet14 just received his green satellite dash pad back from those guys. His turned out real nice.

I used them as well and was satisfied with the product quality. However, I was not happy with their quality/care in packaging and shipping the pad back to me. Very cheap packaging and flimsy box. Although the damage to the pad was done by the shipper (UPS), I still hold them responsible for careless handling of a customer's original dash pad. My original ended up being junk, they replaced it with another rebuilt core, but that was then one less ORIGINAL part that went back on my car. That also added another 3 months to the time to get a dash pad back from them. Also as Propwash has stated, they are NOT cheap. Mine cost slightly over $600 to have it ruined and then replaced with someone else's dash pad.

3 months... that explains why when I took my dash to them on April 5th why I still haven't gotten an estimate or a call. I'm confident they will come through though. My dash isn't that bad (needs a new pad, some plastic repair, painting, testing of instruments), but Instrument Specialties quoted an online ROM estimate of $6k. I'm sure it would have been spectacular and all the wires labeled had I used them! :)

Thanks for the input guys. I know Just Dashes are spendy. They have always been pretty proud of their work. Some is second to none but like everyone else,
They have issues. There is no reason for some of the shoddy workmanship with what they charge. I don't have a problem with spending a few extra bucks for something done right and in a timely manner. My problem is my lower dash pads are warped and peeling away from the metal. I saw pictures of a set of the lower pads re-covered in Red that looked good but it appears that the stitching is not present in them. Here are some pictures of mine. I don't think they could make them much worse but my problem is that I want them to look correct, not just pretty. I don't know of anyone else doing them. Maybe the guy in El Paso Texas but I will not deal with him again. I bought a Challenger dash pad from him at the Mopar Nats, that he promised to ship within 10 days. I got it 5 months later after many unanswered calls and the run-around when I did get through to them. When I did get the pad, I had to do a ton of trimming to get it to fit and it was not hard as a rock. It was half the cost of Just Dashes but with all the issues, it was next to worthless. The car I am working on had a green interior but I am changing to Black. If someone has some nice black originals, I want em!100_6280.jpg100_6281.jpg100_6282.jpg100_6283.jpg
