where do you guys get parts for your daily drivers?
i accidentally jumped my truck about a foot in the air going to help a friend and broke a motor mount. just fantastic i know. so now im on the lookout for new motor mounts :/

everywhere. advance auto, auto bone , oriellys , summit , rock auto , pep boys ......the list goes on .....

you can always chain it down , i know i have....

I think he meant are you for real, as in how can you not know where to find motor mounts? All auto parts stores carry motor mounts. Unless you have some rare classic truck that is almost non-existent it should be easy to find motor mounts.

I would think Jacob was asking about our preference for QUALITY parts. Any parts store can get what you need but who do you TRUST for parts.
Or a better way to put it might be what BRAND parts do you trust.
I vote NAPA usually.

Good point. I have seen some really crappy aftermarket motor mounts from various 3rd world south east asian countries. Might as well run solid mounts if you are gonna use them.

Tell us more about the "Gone in 60 seconds"trip....lol

this is probably over kill for Jacob's truck but anyone have anything good / bad to say about these? Could they cause failure elsewhere by taking flex out at the mounting point?

I've 'jumped' plenty of vehicles in my 46+ years of driving and don't recall breaking any motor mounts but I suppose it's possible depending what exactly you did to it. And getting 1 foot off the ground is nothing! :D If it's the driver's side and the rubber isn't oil soaked and has good to hell, I'd chain it down but if you're trying to keep things 'right', then I'd go with one from Mancini or from someone who sells those kinds of mounts. I know Dodge trucks (but not Dakotas for some dumb reason) started using interlocking mounts a long time ago so even if the rubber does break, you're not going to do damage to anything else.

Haven't had any problems with jumping em but did bottom the road roaster out hard in the dark one night on a country road with a dip in it and it knocked the hell out of my K frame. ... why was that stupid dip in the road anyway! LOL

well me and a few of my friends went out looking for mud on our locals backroads because they have 4wd's. so i just decided to follow them. and i didnt see that it was a jump, i just figured it was a hill and before i know it im in the air. so i hit the ground like a lawn dart, and ripped of a part of my bumper and my a$$ smashed my seat frame. then one of my friends put a hole in the sidewall of his tire. and the other one didnt see some boulders hiding in the grass and smashed into them..

well sadly its a ford :/ so i couldnt expect anything less from it. but when i came down i smashed my front bumper first like a lawn dart. then when i hit the gas now my whole transmission rolls. my shifter would go from where 1st is to where 5th is.

Next time stick the landing.:sFun_doh2:
i wish, i'd need to fill the back with some fat women or else im just gonna be a lawn dart :sad10:

Jacob, you need to be more clear in your posts. Your original post clearly asks WHERE to get mounts, not what the best type is. Really in the aftermarket, they are all about the same. Anchor chinkesium crap. Unless you want to step up to something like what was posted above in the Mancini ad, that's pretty much what you're limited to. I'm going to use cheap mounts and make an adjustable torque strap for the driver's side out of a heavy duty turnbuckle. Probably kess than 20 bucks from our local Ace hardware.

Yup, that's exactly what I meant.

NAPA mounts are reboxed Anchor crap.

ive been trying to find someone to trade my ranger to for a real truck or something but no one likes rangers and i dont blame them haha

I usually use Summit Racing or Mancini Racing, for almost all my stuff, even my daily driver, as long as I don't need it right this minute & can wait a day or so, then either Jegs or Rock Auto, but I also sometimes I just go to the Local Debco/Napa store too... it's hard to beat Summit Racing prices, I can order it at night & have the parts the next day, with little to no shipping or slight shipping costs... I always try to make sure I buy American Made products too, look for the Made in the USA brands...

Mancini racing will price match summit or jegs....nice thing about manicni is whoever picks up the phone there knows what they are talking about.....TJ knows his mopar sh*t for sure...been going there since mid 80s..
