Hey guys I'm looking for a pic of the notch that is required to install a Miloden oil pan http://www.milodon.com/oil-pans/street-oil-pans-chrys.asp in a 1964 dodge 440 with a 440 block. I just want to make sure I notch it correctly, based on the info from engine-swaps.com and the miloden sites, before I send everything to paint/body. As always any help is appreciated!

I couldn't find any close ups of the notch...This will give you an idea of about where it's located. Hope it helps....If I find a better picture I'll send it to you.

Here's another picture before the notch was cut in.

Thanks Godfather, so the notch only goes on passenger side and it looks like you grind it down almost to the meat of the k-member only on the flange?

Godfather posted pretty much all you need to know, although this bit of info helped me:

OILPANS: There are a few 4 quart pans that fit, i.e. the “971” pan as well as the original ‘62-65 B-Body B/RB pan.

If you want an extra capacity pan we recommend the following:

Milodon 7 qt. low profile #30930 with 1/2” pick up # 18335
Mopar Performance 8 qt. # P5007816 with 1/2” pick up #P5007818

Both pans require a notch in the k-member lip — see photo
to right.

For the Milodon pan, measure from the idler arm
bracket inward — make a mark at 2 3/4” and 5 3/4.“ Grind out
a notch approximately 5/8” deep as shown.

For the Mopar Performance pan, make your marks at 4” and 7” from the
idler arm bracket and grind notch approximately 1/2” deep.

Understood, I just wanted to be really sure of what I was doing before I started hacking away on my K-Member.

You're very welcome!! The notch is usually done only on the passenger side and Yes you do cut it back about 1" deep x 2" wide or so to the steel support. Some guys weld the exposed seam to to make sure the K-Frame integrity is maintained but I'm not sure that's necessary.
