Hi all I'm new to this site, and I'm looking forward to reading and enjoying all the topics disscused. I have a question on my kick down rod. I have a 63 Plymouth Savoy, with a Max Wedge motor. The trans doesn't want to shift down, and I know that is not good for the trans. I just can't figure out how to adjust the rod so that the trans will shift down. At one time in my life I know I knew how to do this but I have forgotten. Any help would be a ppreciated...Butch:confused:

The adjustment I have followed for years was to have the throttle pressure linkage (this is the correct term) all the way back when the throttle is at wide open. The early cars have a one piece rod and there should be a guide plate/bracket on the intake to keep it from flopping around.

Welcome aboard and a big thumbs up for the Max Wedge!
