Kickdown

I installed a Lokar kick down on the Yellow GTX. It works great. However the cable curves around the back of the transmission and comes back to the kick down lever. You have to have the bracket for the carb. I also installed a MrGasket throttle cable at the same time.

I have one of those too. I recommend getting the lokar throttle bracket. I had to fabricate something to make it work with my factory unit because I was too cheap to get a new throttle cable. You definitely need to make sure you get full 1:1 travel on your kick down lever vs carb throttle or your knockdown/shift points will never be right. I've been happy with mine since I got that figured out.

Yeah I used the Bouchillon as well on my dart and super easy instructions, setup and adjustment even with my cruise control. I was going to go with the Lokar but didn't want to mess with the throttle cables especially with my existing cruise control.

I have used the Lokar kick-down and throttle cables...combined with the Holley Sniper special bracket.

Set up the kick-down on my own, and it worked perfectly first time...no need for adjustment. Reading the instructions several times before starting is a MUST.

Not my truck, but this is how it will look after install...

I have the Lokar throttle cable and kick-down. Works perfectly, elegant solution over the factory linkages, especially on aftermarket carbs.

I prefer the Lokar for an aftermarket setup as well. I've run the bouchillion one too but I don't care for the huge gold-irridite steel bracket hanging off the side of the carb flange. The Lokar is a much cleaner looking install, but they both work well when properly adjusted.

Honey they shrunk my transmission....

Had to get a new bushng made for the rear...smae as a regular 727, and the Lokar fits and works great.
