Purchased a lightly used kiwi-lift advertised on Craigslist...just in time to pull the "flanged" 4 speed from my 64 SF and replace it with a "slip yoke 4 speed". I'm sure other members have a similar lift...will let you all know how it works out.

there good and I see them on craigslist a lot around here around 500-700

I paid $500.00.
Have seen them advertised between $650-$1,500. When I saw this one advertised at $500.00 I immediately called the guy and told him I was on my way. It was on Craigslist for about 12 hours....(mostly night time).

It does "break down" in pieces and is easily hauled in a pick up. I have a short bed Ram.

Looked for a while saw one that was advertised a few years ago . I definately would take a used one and paint it if I had too . It's a neat looking tool

I'm not being facetious here, but can someone explain the benefit of these "lifts", please?

It's a raised ramp to get the car off the ground 20 inches that is easily stored or driven on to .
I like its versatility .
Better than just jack stands .
A hoist still is the best option if you can .

I had one for a few years. It was a very good option when you have a standard garage ceiling. Extremely sturdy.

Just curious OP, was something wrong with your old trans?

Not really, the driveshaft trunnion was going bad and rather than doing the conversions I've seen done I decided to go the later style transmission and driveshaft.

Previously I had replaced the flanged/splined rear axel assembly with one from a 65 b body and installed a sure grip third member that has the large pinion yoke. With the change out everything (transmission, driveshaft and third member) will be more compatible with each other.

I am still running a BT trans in my car, might be interested in a spare. Do you have plans for your old trans?
What part of FL are you in?
