Hi all,
I want to buy a new timingcover for my '67 318cui. I see that Mopar Performance (P5249930) and Dorman make one. The Dorman (635-400) is for '70 and up 318's.
So now my question, can I use this timingcover from Dorman? The only difference I know of is, in 1970 they changed the waterpump from steel to aluminium. And the inlet is moved from driverside to passengerside.

The reason for asking is, the MP cover sells for $150 and Dorman for $85...

Thanks in advance!
Cheers, Remco

you are correct. i believe the timing marks are also in a different spot, but not positive. you will have to have the correct lower radiator outlet or fab a hose running to the other side.

@ super77se, You are right. It seems the '70 and up covers have the timing marks on the driverside.
In my case there is a sheetmetal scale attached under a bolt head at the passengerside. Opposite to the lower water inlet.
'70 and up are the only covers that are reproduced. So I will use that sheetmetal scale.

Thanks!

Cheers, Remco
