On today's cars, there is no window trim on the windshield and rear window; our Challenger and Charger is this way. Looking at them closely I see a very high quality glue is used, and the glass is cut just a little bit smaller than the opening. On today's cars there is no window clips (at least apparently), no trim, looks like this is a result of simplification in the manufacture of the cars today. So, my question/comment/inquiry is this: Could we in our rebuilding our old cars adopt this same process; same glues, etc? Would I need a larger windshield, or, would I have to make the window channel area smaller? I could eliminate the trim; the same trim that PROMOTED our cars to rot away as water just 'sits' in there and eats in our prized jewels? I am definitely going to explore this in detail when the time comes.
