Got it running halfway decent....just got a lot of "tuning" to do now. Wheels Up Launch.mp4_snapshot_00.33_[2015.10.20_02.19.26].jpg

I wish mine left straight like that!

Car looks real good Mike. Ron

Lookin' good Mike - looks like it's time for a match race!

Car look great, glad to hear it went well too :headbang:

Looks great Mike, so how do you like the calvert racing rear suspension?

How much did it improve?

Well, I think the Cal Tracs did EVERYTHING they were supposed to do.
We painted a white stripe on the rear tire and videod the run. No tire spinning and pulled the front wheels the exact 3" that you are supposed to pull for best 60'.

Your car looks good. What were the 60 ft. times ? Im not so sure about the 3" deal you speak of. That may be true for a light full tube chassis "fast" car, but that doesn't hold true for full bodied race cars (especially b-body mopars). Take a look at any Stock or Super Stocker, damn near all of them pull over 2 ft wheelies, they have too, they need to hit it hard at the starting line, to get there full bodied car to react and get moving. They do it with a ton of LOW gear and a perfectly matched (high dollar) torque convertor. (and usually some sort of weight ballast in the rear). I would venture to guess if I lowered my launch rpm enough, and changed the shock setting to get it down to just the 3" wheelie you speak of, my car would be considerable slower. To each his own, and I realize that all cars react differently and your car may be more consistent with it pulling 3" wheelies. But to say its the best way to pull your best 60ft just isn't correct for our style cars. If your trying to get your best 60 you can out of your car, I would continue to get more aggressive with how you leave until the car slows down. There is always more than one way to do it. Im just giving you my perspective on it. Ive worked very hard at getting my small slick car to react hard and consistent.

Believe me...I appreciate your comments on this. I was just "told" that the 3" is the "best" BUT I value your insights a lot more...actually from someone racing a car very similiar to mine...THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT.

Your 60's and ET's are Proof you know what you are talking about....Thanks again, Mike

I am posting my ET's, etc on another separate thread reporting my 1st 5 runs with the new Motor, Converter and Rear End Gear.
